NEW HAVEN–Maximus Edwards has already rewritten the boys basketball record books around town.
Now, he’s piling up the hardware.
The Bunnell High School junior secured his second All-State honor of the winter season on Wednesday after being named to the 2019 GametimeCT All-State Boys Basketball team.
Edwards, along with Stratford High’s Jack Ryan, had already been honored by the Connecticut State High School Coaches Association by being placed on their Division 2 All-State team.
In a record-breaking junior season, Edwards led Bunnell to the SWC Championship and Division 2 quarterfinals.
He averaged 25 points, 10 rebounds and six assists per game. He scored 643 points this season, giving him 1,613 in his career.
That leaves him as Bunnell’s all-time leading scorer, in addition to his hometown’s all-time leading scorer, as well.
He is also two-time All-SWC selection.
