STRATFORD–The Stratford Brakettes softball organization lost a legendary figure earlier this week when former team manager Ralph Raymond passed away at the age of 95.
The Worcester, Mass., native led the Brakettes to 17 ASA national titles and also coached Team USA to Olympic gold medals in 1996 and 2000.
Hearst Media Connecticut certainly recognized the magnitude of the loss, writing to two different stories announcing the news and celebrating Raymond’s life and career.
HearstCT columnist Jeff Jacobs reached out a handful of former Brakette players, whose lives and career were impacted by Raymond.
The 2019 edition of the Brakettes open the season on June 1-2.
