Stratford resident Jeffrey Sharnick, a graduate of Stratford High School, was one of two Dean College baseball players honored recently.
Sharnick was named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) baseball second-team all-conference squad it was announced on Tuesday.
Sharnick helped lead the Bulldogs to the cusp of the conference playoffs and was an integral of the team this season.
Sharnick, a catcher, played in 35 games and finish 10th in the conference in batting (.382) – raising his average from his freshman season by nearly 100 points.
In 110 at-bats, he collected 42 hits and drove in a team-leading 30 runs.
During conference play, however, he was at his best, hitting .404 against NECC opponents, including a 4-for-4 performance in a win over Lesley University back on April 7.
In addition to his accolades on the field, Sharnick stars in the classroom, where he sports a perfect 4.0 grade point average as a sport management major and is a three-time President’s List honoree and was recently inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS).
