Mariana Trovarelli poured in a career-high 22 points as the Bunnell girls basketball team qualified for the state tournament for the first time in three years with a 62-52 win over Weston on Friday night.
Amanda Zdru added 16 points, including eight in the final quarter, as the Bulldogs (8-7) snapped a five-game losing streak.
Toni Greene added another 11 points for Bunnell.

Kevin Lanham scored 17 points to lead a balanced scoring attack as Bunnell won on the road at Weston on Friday night.
The Bulldogs improved to 5-8 on the season.
Tiyorne Coleman added 14 points for the Bulldogs while Jaden McDowell had 11 and Derrick Gyimah had 10.
Gyimah also had nine rebounds while McDowell had seven steals.
Newtown 65, Stratford 41
Stratford saw a modest two-game winning streak snapped with a 65-41 road loss to Newtown on Friday night.
The Red Devils are now 6-6 on the season.

The Red Devils pulled out a thrilling victory over New Fairfield on Wednesday.
Jake Kszywanos (160) went into the final match against Frank Tammy with Stratford up 36-33 team score.
With just two seconds left on the clock, Kszywanos escaped his opponent in a tied match to win at the buzzer to secure a Stratford victory.
In other highlights, Omarion Parisse (220) won in a pin in 37 seconds; Meisel Diaz (113) jumped to an early 8- 2 lead before pinning at 3:27; Nathaniel Nagel (120) pinned at :52; Joshua Kydes (138) dominated his opponent with a pin fall at 1:24; and Hayden Roberts (145) earned a pin at 3:39.
