H.S. ROUNDUP: Bunnell shows off speed at SWC Developmental track meet

MIDDLETOWN—The Bunnell indoor track team put four sprinters under seven seconds to take half of the top eight spots in the 55-meter dash, highlighting Wednesday’s SWC Developmental meet at Wesleyan University.

Christ N’Dabian won the event in 6.69 seconds. Teammates Alex Mosley (3rd, 6.82), Pierre Duvert (5th, 6.94) and Marquise Lawrence (8th, 6.99) weren’t far behind.

In the boys long jump, Jesone Khantikone placed second with a leap of 19 feet, 6 inches. Alex Knight was 10th in that event at 17-7 ¼ and also fifth in the high jump with a leap of 5-2.

Bunnell’s boys 4×200 team was sixth in 1:40.7.

On the girls side of the docket, a pair of second places highlighted the meet.

Kesiri Gonzalez was second in the 55 (7.66) while Abby Williams was second in the long jump (16-4).  Williams was also ninth in the hurdles (10.40), a few spots behind teammate Susie Poisson, who was 6th in 10.22.

Dardielle Exantus, 7th in the 55 (7.86), 9th in the 300 (46.40)

Kaylah Phommachanh finished tied for sixth in the high jump (4-6) while the Bulldogs 4×200 relay team was third in 1:51.27.

Moshier leads Stratford squad.

Elle Mosher placed third in the 300 (44.47 seconds) and was fifth in the 55 (7.80) to highlight the meet for the Stratford Red Devils.

For the boys team, Elijah Henry was fifth in the 1,000 with a time of 2:54.96.

The host Nighthawks were just too deep and swam away with a dual meet victory earlier this week.

Brandon Russell notched the day’s only win, taking first place in the 100 breaststroke (1:14.02). Dom Summa took second in the event (1:16.79) and was also third in the 200 free (2:22.82).

The co-op squad’s 200 medley relay team (James Bragg, Russell , Miguel Vanegas, Steven Tarkowski) was second with a time of 2:01.05 while the 400 free relay (Tarkowski, Bragg, Sean McGettigan, Vangeas) was second in 4:13.34.

The co-op’s 200 free relay (Adi Gowd, Summa, Pat Chudecki, Russell) was third in 1:56.49, Tarkowski was second in the 500 free (6:17.94), and Vanegas was third in the 100 free (57.02).
