The Stratford girls volleyball team won a thrilling five-setter to remain undefeated on the season, highlighting Monday’s high school sports action around town.

Here’s a rundown of Monday’s action:

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Stratford 3, New Fairfield 2

Sydney Ritchie and Abbi Jackson filled up the stat sheet with big games to highlight the Red Devils fourth win of the season.

The Red Devils topped the Rebels 25-17, 21-25, 22-25, 25-20, 15-6.

Ritchie had 16 service points to go with 8 kills, 5 digs, 4 aces, 4 assists and a block. Jackson had 11 service points with 4 aces, 3 kills, 3 blocks and a pair of digs.

Anna Mayglothling led the defensive charge with 20 digs.

Newtown 3, Bunnell 0

GIRLS SWIMMING

Foran 95, Bunnell 83

Host Foran eked out a tight victory over Bunnell despite two more individual wins by the Bulldogs’ Rose Nieto.

Nieto posted victories in the 200 free (2:07.55) and 100 free (58.28) to lead the way for Bunnell.

Lili Dowell also won the 50 free (28.37) while Abigail Alexandre won the 100 breaststroke in 1:33.95.

Bunnell also won a pair of relay races. The 200 free relay team of Nieto, Taylor Niemiec, Amaya Davis and Dowell took first in 1:53.51 with the 400 free relay squad (Alix Agathos, Victoria Zottoli, Niemiec and Nieto) winning in 4:02.96.

GIRLS SOCCER

New Milford 3, Bunnell 2

Fabiola Millien Faustin scored a pair of goals, but the Bulldogs fell short in their effort against New Milford on Monday.

Olivia Kells and Natalie Farrell recorded the assists on the Bunnell goals.

New Milford out-shot Bunnell by a 12-6 count.

Newtown 6, Stratford 0
