As the Stratford High softball team ran its record to 5-0 on the season, it did so behind the left arm of junior pitcher Angela Grindrod, who fired her second no-hitter of the season.

It was a split day of action with incoming rains postponing some events, but here’s a rundown of the Tuesday in local sports:

SOFTBALL

Stratford 6, Platt Tech 0

Junior pitcher Angela Grindrod pitched her second no-hitter of the season, striking out 13 as the Red Devils improved to 5-0 on the season.

Taylor Lubas was 3-for-4 for Stratford Skyler Boibeaux and Bella DeLorenzo (2 RBIs) had two hits each. Rachel Newall had an RBI triple, as well.

Stratford plays at Weston on Saturday at noon.

BOYS LACROSSE

Joel Barlow 16, Bunnell 1

The Bulldogs fell to 0-3 with a tough road loss against SWC power Joel Barlow.

Jacob Kudysch scored the goal for Bunnell while Quinton Budnick made 11 saves.

Bunnell travels to Westhill on Thursday and is at Foran on Saturday.

Stamford 11, Stratford 3

GIRLS LACROSSE

Newtown 13, Stratford 4

Edie Threshie added three more goals, but the Red Devils fell to Newtown at home.

Elle Moshier had a goal and an Alexis Torri had an assist for Stratford.

Julia Mahoney added five draw controls and Kelly Goddard had three ground balls while Helen Lefever made six saves.

Bethel 195, Stratford 257

Pomperaug 6, Stratford 1

Stratford’s Ben Barg got the Red Devils its only point posting an 8-1 win over at third singles.

Stratford is now 1-2 on the season.

The Bunnell at New Fairfield girls tennis match as been postponed to Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.

Stratford at Pomperaug

The Stratford at Pomperaug girls tennis match was postponed, with no date determined.

GIRLS OUTDOOR TRACK

Stratford falls in three way meet

Stratford fell to Brookfield (90-46) and Bethel (96-40) in a three-way meet on Tuesday. No individual results were reported.

Bunnell meet postponed

Bunnell’s girls track meet against Immaculate and New Milford was postponed until Wednesday at 4 p.m.
