It was a rough day for the town’s varsity sports teams on Thursday as just one squad came away with a win—the Stratford softball team with a 13-0 win over Bunnell.
Everybody else was on the short end of the scoreboard.

Brookfield 9, Bunnell 3
Quinton Budnick made nine saves for the Bulldogs, who fell to Brookfield on Thursday.
Bunnell got goals from seniors Charles Stewart and Jacob Kudysch and sophomore Will Heiden.
The Bulldogs fell to 4-8.
Masuk 14, Stratford 4

Brookfield 8, Bunnell 3
Tatiana Wright made 16 saves, but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs fell to Brookfield at home.
Morgan Reilly scored two goals and assisted on a tally by Mariana Trovarelli. Christina DiBenedetto also had an assist.
Bunnell slipped to 5-9 on the season.
Masuk 8, Stratford 3
Helen Lefever made eight saves, caused two turnovers and scooped up a ground ball as Stratford fell at Masuk on Thursday.
Kassidy Murtha scored twice while Kaitlin LaPia had a goal and Diana DeRosa notched an assist. Amelia Overby scooped up three ground balls and had a caused turnover, as well.
Stratford is now 5-9.
Immaculate 215, Joel Barlow 285, Stratford 319
Jennifer Melo had the Red Devils low round in the three-way match at the Redding Country Club.
Weston 7, Bunnell 0
The Bulldogs only took two games off the powerful Trojans program with Keane Alindato taking one in singles and the doubles squad of Carrie Lutian and Amari Campfield taking the other.
