Bunnell 79, Joel Barlow 73
Maximus Edwards poured in 40 points to lead Bunnell to a 79-73 overtime win over Joel Barlow on Saturday.
Josh Giannoni added six points and 12 rebounds to the winning effort.
Bunnell, now 14-5, hosts Newtown on Tuesday in its regular season finale.
Six town athletes compete at State Open
Five Bunnell athletes and one Stratford runner took part in the State Open indoor track championship meet at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven on Saturday.
Stratford’s Elle Moshier placed eighth in the girls 300 with a time of 42.52 seconds, almost a half second faster than her seed time.
She just missed earning the Red Devils a point by .68 of a second.
Christ N’Dabian of Bunnell finished 11th during the 55-meter dash heats, missing a spot in the finals by just 0.08 seconds.
The Bulldogs’ girls 4×200 team (Dardielle Exantus, Kaylah Phommachanh, Kesiri Gonzalez, Abigail Williams) placed 12th in 1:50.89 seconds.
The time was 1.16 seconds faster than their seed time.
CLASS M WRESTLING
Bunnell and Stratford both competed at the Class M wrestling championships at Guilford High School on Saturday.
The Bulldogs placed 24th with 31 points while Stratford was 29th with 9 points.
No wrestlers finished amongst the top six in their weight class.
