STRATFORD—Two more Bunnell High graduates will be honored with their induction into the school’s Hall of Fame during the Bunnell High School Athletic Association’s Senior Athlete Recognition/Hall of Fame Banquet next month.
The event will be held on Thursday, May 16, at 6 p.m., at Vazzano’s Four Seasons banquet hall.
Dinner will be followed by an awards program.
Former BHS football standout John Svatik and cross country runner Lauren Sara will both be inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame.
Other honors being presented that evening will be the presentation of Senior Four-Year Varsity Awards in recognition of those student-athletes’ dedication and commitment to the Bunnell sports program, as well as the presentation of Scholar-Athlete Awards to seniors who have maintained a 3.2 or higher grade point average.
Additionally, Mark Celentano will be presented with the Walter Wright “Community Spirit Award” in recognition of his efforts assisting the Bunnell Bulldog All-Sports Booster Club and his continued support of the Bunnell Athletic Department, and Yvemalya Germain will be presented with the BHS Athletic Association’s “Distinguished Service Award” in recognition of her efforts at the school to promote leadership, student participation, school spirit and good sportsmanship throughout the athletics program.
