BETHEL—The Bunnell High boys cross country team notched a Top-10 finish at Friday’s SWC championship cross country meet at the Mark Goodwin Cross Country Course in Bethel.
The Newtown girls (67 points) and New Milford boys (57) won their respective championships.
Bunnell’s boys were 10th with 291 points while Stratford finished 12th with 364.
The Bunnell girls finished 11th with 318 points.
Mario Oliva placed 39th overall for Bunnell with a time of 18:37.43. Jonanthan Gulish was 51st in 19:14.91 while Dennis Johnson was third for the team in 58th in 19:47.40.
Maurice Neri (21:12.11), Vincenzo Fabrizi (21:28.48), Colin Grib (21:50.29), and Bruce Claxton (22:21.38) also competed at the varsity level for Bunnell.
Stratford’s Joshua Kydes placed 50th in 19:10.75 with Elijah Brown placing 59th in 19:47.74.
Paul Duncanson (21:40.38), Amos Colocho (22:57.61), Ryan Munoza (26:45.77) and Drilon NaSufi (28:52) also competed for the Red Devils.
For the Bunnell girls, Dannah Urban led the way with a 58th-place finish in 25:53.05.
Also competing for the Bulldogs were: Meghan Fenton (26:29.81), Kelsey Ponce (26:42.62), Morgan Reilly (27:46.82), Risa McLaughlin (32:19.14) and Colleen Mullane (32:36.76).
